We are three weeks post-op after removing screws that caused an infection in Andrew’s foot. Stitches come out at the Shriners Hopsital in Springfield on Thursday. His first able bodied New England race will be on Saturday and he will head to Canada for speed training next Wed. Making up for lost time.
I met with a doctor today who is a chiropractor who is looking to help me with some of my nerve issues. The ride went well. We met some new friends and had a great band, The Mighty Drivers. Thanks to everyone who came out. Ill keep you posted on what else is going on and how your support is helping. sorry it took so long im not good at blogging. Trying to get better.
Well the car wash fundraiser didn’t go as well as planned. Apparently people don’t want their cars washed in the rain. Still worth it, and nice to meet all the people that came out to help support me and my dream. Next fundraiser is coming up in a couple of weeks at Sonny’s mini golf in Somers.
Andrew is headed to Mount Hood to start his training for the 2012-2013 season. He is flying out by himself and meeting coaches he met in Colorado and training with them for a week. We wish you well Andrew. Have a safe and productive trip.
Our Jun 9 Enfield Outback lunch was a great event. Jake and crew were awesome!
We have some exciting fundraising events coming up. Trantolo & Trantolo & Advance Auto Parts have offered to help us out with a carwash on July 29. The Trantolo girls will be on hand to wash the cars. AbilityPLUS is also helping us with another fundraising season. TSI Harley Davidson in Ellington and Hooters, Manchester are on board for our Motorcycle ride. Sonny’s Place (formerly Somer’s Golf Center) are helping us with our Golf Event. Brown’s Harvest in Windsor is excited about our second painted pumpkin event for Andrew in October. I am designing another t-shirt for this year. We still have advertising space on the back.
Hopefully the flakes will start falling in Nov. this year and continue through the winter months.
Once again we thank all the businesses, organizations, friends and family for all your support! Andrew wouldn’t be doing any of these amazing things without your help. It is greatly appreciated!!!!!
Don’t forget to go to www.andrewraces.com for upcoming details.
Thanks again, Sheryl
Been going to the gym two to three times a week now and working with a trainer. I feel like i am getting much stronger and that i am much more well prepared for this ski season. Made High honors this year and just got an award for it. Getting ready for my first fundraiser in about a week, at the Outback in Enfield Connecticut. The fundraiser is coming up on the ninth.
Had a good season this year, got a total of five gold medals, and junior racer of the year. Now that the ski season is over for now, I have had time to get to my new blog, and have had plenty of time for dry land training. I have a personal trainer now and we have made a lot of progress with strength training. Also, I have my first fundraiser coming up in June on the ninth, at Outback Steakhouse, 98 Elm St, Enfield, CT 06082-3732.
